Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
If you have kids and will allow them to use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, there is a vast selection of kid-friendly games, educational apps, and activity-oriented apps suitable for young people. You’ll also find many interactive storybook apps that will read to your kids, help them learn to read, and offer interactive elements on the various book pages.
To find some of these kid-friendly apps, access the Education category of the App Store, or on the iPhone, look for games in the Kids category. You can find interactive storybooks via iBooks by accessing the iBookstore and looking in the Children & Teens category.
Tip
Before allowing your kids to use your iPhone or iPad, be sure to launch the Settings app, and from under the General option found in the main Settings menu, tap on the Restrictions option. Using the Restrictions feature, you can quickly “childproof” your iOS device so that your kids can’t surf the Web, make online purchases, or access specific apps or content. For example, you can restrict them from watching R-rated movies on your iPhone or iPad, or keep them from listening to music with explicit lyrics.
