The New and Improved Camera App

The Camera app that comes preinstalled with iOS 5 has been given an overhaul, yet it still remains very easy to use if you want to snap a photo or shoot a video clip. To begin using the Camera app, launch it from your device’s Home Screen.

The main camera viewfinder screen (shown in Figure 9.2) appears as soon as you launch the Camera app on an iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. The main area of the screen serves as your camera’s viewfinder. In other words, what you see on the screen is what you’ll photograph or capture on video.

Along the bottom of the screen are three icons. In the lower-left corner, you’ll see a thumbnail image of the last photo or video clip you shot. Tap on it to view that image or video clip by automatically launching the Photos app.
