Concreteness Use scenarios to illustrate tasks and to provide overviews A scenario depicts a series of events over time, usually around a fictitious but realistic set of circumstances. It shows one path through one or more prod- ucts, a path that can be broad or narrow, high or low, vertical or horizontal. It can range from a high-level overview to a sequence of interface manipula- tions (sometimes accompanied by captured windows). You use scenarios primarily either to teach (as in a tutorial) or to describe and motivate (as in marketing information). Unlike the lists of steps in a pro- cedure, scenarios usually have a story that helps guide the actions. Consider the following introduction to a tutorial lesson: Original In this lesson you learn how to write an application to process data for more than one application server. You can manage the transfer of data in one of the following ways:
