Using Password Best Practices
Passwords are probably the most commonly used security measure. Passwords are so commonplace that it is easy to forget how protective we need to be with them. As HIT technicians we are responsible for communicating to users in the facility the importance to keep passwords secret. Usernames and passwords should not be shared among users; every user should have a unique username and password.
Follow these guidelines as both a user and an HIT technician to prevent a breach of HIPAA confidentiality:
