How to Remotely Access the Facility’s Network

Satellite facilities, remote employees, and vendors need to remotely connect to the facility’s network. Sensitive data needs to be transmitted to and from remote locations and needs to be secured.

The following methods are used to establish the connection.

• Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection: As you learned in Chapter 5, remote desktop connection (RDC) uses remote desktop protocol (RDP) to connect to another computer to view the remote computer’s screen, as shown in Figure 7-11. The RDC connection should require an administrator account, and the remote user needs to grant permission to access his computer.
