Using the Audio Playback Control Widget

There’s a built-in widget for quickly playing, pausing, rewinding, fast-forwarding, or controlling the volume of the music playing in your Music app, or audio streaming from the iTunes app (like an audio podcast or other audio app [like Pandora]). To get to this handy little widget anytime (no matter where you are in your iPhone), double-click the Home button, and the multitasking bar appears at the bottom of the screen. Now swipe to the right, and the control widget appears (seen above). Swipe to the right once more, and you’ll see a volume slider. To control your music, tap the Play/Pause button, etc., then tap back anywhere on your screen area (basically, tap anywhere above the widget) to return to what you were doing, and your music continues to play in the background.
