Video Straight from Your iPhone to YouTube

You can take video you’ve shot and publish it directly on YouTube.com right from your iPhone. Here’s what you do: Once you’ve shot the video, tap on the thumbnail to bring it up full screen, and trim it down to the size you want (if necessary), then tap the button in the bottom-left corner of the video screen, and a menu will appear. Tap on Send to YouTube, and your iPhone will compress the video and take you to the Publish Video screen (shown above), but before that screen appears, it’s going to ask you to enter your YouTube.com username and password (you have to have a free YouTube.com account before YouTube will let you publish any videos there, so if you don’t have an account, go to their website and sign up for one, or this is as far as you can go). Enter a title and description of your video, then add any tags (search terms), choose a category that matches your video, and choose whether you want it to be Public, Unlisted, or Private. Now you’re ready to tap the Publish button at the top right of the screen and your iPhone will upload your video to your YouTube.com account. Once it’s uploaded, a menu will appear telling you that your video has been published, with buttons for watching it right now on YouTube.com (from your iPhone), or sending a friend the link to the YouTube video, so they can watch it on their phone (or their computer). If you tap the Tell a Friend button, it copies-and-pastes the YouTube.com direct Web link to your video into a new email message, and it puts the video’s name as the subject line.
