It’s hard to believe, but the 1979 song “Video Killed the Radio Star,” from The Buggles, actually has an important place in music history because when MTV went live back in August 1981, their debut music video was (you guessed it) “Video Killed the Radio Star.” I have a regular iPod that does play video, but it doesn’t have the larger, more luxurious widescreen display the iPhone has, and it was while pondering that thought, I realized the iPhone itself was playing a role in music history, and as an iPhone owner, like MTV, I would have to choose which music video would debut on my iPhone.
