If you have a Bluetooth wireless headset, or you want to pair your iPhone to your car’s Bluetooth feature, here’s what to do: First you have to put your headset (or your car’s Bluetooth feature) in Discoverable mode, which means you put it in a mode where other Bluetooth devices can find it. How this is done is different for every headset or car make and model, so look at your headset’s instruction manual (or your car’s owner’s manual) for how to make it “discoverable.” Once it’s discoverable, tap on the Settings app, then tap on General, and tap on Bluetooth. When the Bluetooth screen appears, tap the ON/OFF button to turn the Bluetooth feature on. This starts your iPhone searching for any discoverable Bluetooth devices (like your wireless headset or your car’s Bluetooth feature) that are within about 30 feet of where you are. Once it finds a Bluetooth device, it displays that device’s name. Tap the Not Paired button, which will bring up a screen where you enter the PIN for your device (check the instructions that come with your headset or car kit for how to find this information), then tap Pair, and they’ll be paired (luckily, you only have to go through this process the first time. After that, it automatically recognizes your headset, or car).
