Turn a Recent Caller into a Contact
If someone calls you that isn’t in your contacts list (but you’d like to add them), tap on the Phone app, then tap on Recents. Go to the number of the person you want to add as a contact, then tap on the button with the arrow in the blue circle to the right of their number. This brings up an Info screen, and near the bottom of this screen, tap the Create New Contact button. The New Contact screen appears with their number already entered—you just have to type in their name, address, etc. When you’re done, tap the Done button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
iTip: Adding a Note to a Contact
If you’d like to add a note to a contact (like a description of who the person is, or how you know them), tap on the contact, and when their Info screen appears, tap on the Edit button (in the top-right corner). Then, in the Info edit screen, scroll down and tap on Add Field, then scroll down and tap on Notes to add a Notes field, where you can type in your note using the keyboard that appears at the bottom of the screen.
