Oops, How Embarrassing!

Okay, so you have tried everything and nothing seems to be working. Here are a few other things to double-check. Some of them may seem silly, but trust us, we have seen it or we wouldn’t list it:

• Is the wireless router actually plugged in and powered on?

• Do you have security turned on in the wireless router but not the wireless NIC?

• Have you tried connecting with a wired connection to see if the computer and the Internet are working?

• Can you connect to the wireless router with any other wireless laptop or computer (in other words, are you sure the wireless router is working at all)?

• Is the wireless NIC actually powered on, plugged in, enabled, and working?

• Can you make a wireless connection without security? Try turning off wireless security (WEP or WPA) on both the wireless router and all NICs and then connecting.
