Once limited to very expensive closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, video cameras for fun or for surveillance are now pretty affordable. If you already have a wireless network in your home, a decent wireless video surveillance system costs you only $100 or so. (We say “only” because a basic CCTV system costs more than $1000.)

Wireless video cameras have all sorts of practical uses, including home surveillance for security and nanny cams.

Video cameras that attach to computers are very common, usually used for communicating with other people that have similar video cameras. Also popular recently have been very inexpensive wireless cameras that can be placed anywhere in your house.
