Making Basic Color Adjustments in Final ... > Using the Global Color Control

Using the Global Color Control

As you’ve seen, the Highlights, Shadows, and Midtones controls can adjust extremely specific regions of image lightness. The Global color control, as its name implies, lets you make larger adjustments that affect every tonal region of the image at once.

Now you’ll use the Global color control to produce overall corrective adjustments and bold stylistic changes.

1. From the Project Library, open the Cooking project into the Timeline. In a previous exercise, you turned off iMovie effects and color adjustments, leaving these clips in a completely uncorrected state. Verify that iMovie effects and adjustment are still disabled.

2. Click the first clip of the project to select it and display its parameters in the Video Inspector or Color Board. If the Video Inspector is open, click the Show Correction button of Correction 1 to open the Color Board.
