Exploring the Start Screen

Now that you know the various ways you can get around in Windows 8, you’re probably eager to explore the Windows 8 Start screen. This beautiful, moving interface brings a great deal of information to you right off the bat. With live tiles, a scrolling screen, and access to all your favorite Windows tools, you’ll be using the Start screen as the center of much of your activity in Windows 8.

Finding What You Need on the Start Screen

The Start screen gives you access to the apps on your Windows 8 computer and makes it easy for you to get to the programs you use most often.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview displays a number of apps by default, but you can also add apps, create new groups, and remove tiles on the Start screen you don’t think you’ll need.
