Multicamera Techniques > Shifting Visual Interest - Pg. 315

Shifting Visual Interest It is just as necessary to be able to shift the viewer's attention to another aspect of the picture as it is to localize their attention originally. You can do this by readjusting any of the influences that we use to originally direct their attention. Here are a few of the alternatives: Transfer the original emphasis (contrast, isolation, etc.) to the new subject. Use linking action; first person looks to camera right--cut to new subject on screen right. Weaken the original subjects by reducing their size within the picture or alter the camera height when shooting. Adjust the focus, pulling it from the old subject to the new.
