ENCODING AND OUT PUT Red Laser Blu-ray has the huge advantage in that conventional DVDs are used as the recording medium. Furthermore, a Blu-ray burner is not needed to pro- duce Red Laser Blu-ray. A conventional DVD recorder can be used. The limita- tion is that one will only be able to fit about 30 minutes of content onto a Red Laser Blu-ray disc. Producing Blu-ray recorded onto Blu-ray discs requires one to have both a Blu-ray burner and Blu-ray media. Blu-ray media is much more expensive than recordable DVDs.
