ENCODING AND OUT PUT Compressor Compressor is a program designed to encode files to different for- mats. It runs as a separate application to Final Cut Pro, though the two programs have been built to work together. When working in Final Cut Pro you can send items to Compressor by choosing the Send To com- mand found under the File menu in Final Cut Pro. Alternatively you can export your movie as a self- contained movie using Export QuickTime Movie, and choose Current Settings when Exporting. The self-contained movie you created can then be imported into Compressor, which functions as a standalone application. There is nothing difficult about working with Compressor. Certainly on a basic level the opera- tion can be surmised
