CHAPTER Electrician's set protocol 7 SET PROTOCOL Staging area Upon arrival at each new shooting location, one of the first jobs is to establish a staging area where electrical equipment is kept, ready to go onto the set when needed. The best boy will have scoped out a spot that is convenient to the set but not so close as to block access. Stake out the good spot early before another department claims it. The entrance to the staging area must be clear of obstructions. You don't want a line of director's chairs sitting in front of the area. You need to be able to carry equipment in and out easily.
