242 Chapter 18 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS Voice-over narration with B-roll introduced each organiza- tion, and that motif was used for the conclusion. To keep the budget low, we used photos, newspaper headlines, shots of pos- ters, video clips, and whatever material was available. The result was that Progressive Way was able to solicit employee donations on a level playing field with their Goliath competitor United Way. Project SEED A credit roll at the head of a corporate video? Well, it's not my style, but it was a requirement of this local nonprofit that had managed to get support from a great number of the largest cor- porations in the San Francisco Bay area. Each camera's footage was recorded onto an individual VTR, and the sequence was compiled together in post. In order to complete this production within the organization's limited budget, we donated much of our time. I now have a letter in my file from Project SEED stating that our modest $10 K production yielded them over $100 K in donations. That became my calling card for future nonprofit clients.
