Chapter 4:The desk drawer > Making thedrawer - Pg. 72

72 1 0 0 % P H O T O S H O P Making the drawer We'll build this entire piece of furniture out of the wood texture we made on page 24. Increase the contrast 8 and saturation 11 to get a glossy, highly polished look: we want this drawer to appear to be part of a well looked-after piece of antique furniture. On the following pages we'll look at how to make all the contents of the drawer, before putting it all together at the end. The drawer tops 1 We can make the top of the drawer front from a thin 2 piece of our wood. Make a rectangular selection, and add a narrow ellipse at each end to round off the edges. Duplicate the layer, and rotate 90 degrees to make the sides. It's worth offsetting the sides before cutting them to length, so they don't look too symmetrical.
