This is a pretty easy read for someone looking to update VMware skills to the latest version. Scott Lowe does a good job explaining the product and what has changed from 3.5 or 4.0/4.1.

Don't expect in-depth technical explanations or direction on best practice. Sometimes the author will point out that some methods or settings are better than others but generally avoids discussing the benefits or detriments of one design choice over another. Mostly general guidelines are what you'll get here.

I found this book very helpful and exactly what I needed to prepare for our migration from ESX 3.5 to vSphere 5.
