Changes to the front-end of trading platforms are always the most obvious. However, changes on the back-end can have the greatest impact on your trading.

As the speed of execution has become more important for more and more traders, many FX providers have made significant investments in technology to improve performance in this area. As well as improving the actual back-end architecture, many have taken steps to ensure that their trade servers are located as close as possible to the banks they deal with in the inter-bank market. Moving trade servers can shave hundreds of milliseconds off execution times, resulting in a better trading experience for clients. Some providers now show average server-side execution times of just two milliseconds.
