Intermec Technologies

Intermec has been active in automatic identification technology (AIT) for decades. It has a significant embedded client base that uses its barcode technology. It also has a proprietary RFID system and is moving toward compliance with EPC and ISO (International Organization for Standardization) open standards, but has been slow to do so. Intermec claims existing deployments of RFID with manufacturing, food processing, security, and logistics in the United States; retail and logistics in Europe; biohazard waste management in Africa; and transportation systems in Japan.
