Exhibit A.1. Questions About Our Organization

Mission and style

  • When, why, and how did our organization start? Exactly who founded our organization?
  • What is the story of our founding? Was it in response to a critical need or incident?
  • What is the community need that we address? How is this need important to our community? Do we address the need on a local, regional, state, national, or global basis? What community or constituency do we serve or represent?
  • What are our organization's values—the principles that drive our staff and board? How can we state our values positively? For instance, instead of saying “discrimination is wrong,” might we say “we promote equality?”
