Webb pushed the board to admit applicants as community college students, for which entrance requirements were less rigorous. Additionally, the board approved the hiring of faculty who were working professionals rather than academics. At the same time, the school integrated its general education courses to supple- ment the music curriculum. This way, students graduate with an associate's degree as well as certification from the Academy of Con- temporary Music, which is useful for those who want to pursue music professionally.
