L EAD WITH P URPOSE some time on you, apart from personal time for friends and family. This is personal executive time during which you think about what you are doing, why you are doing it, and what the consequences of your actions might be. Reflection is a critical leadership behavior. You don't have to wait until the sun is shining and the birds are singing to reflect. Nor do you need to hole up at your favorite fishing spot. The important thing is to do it. Make the most of reflection, and it will pay itself back in terms of higher-quality decisions, as well as a more deliberative leader- ship practice.
