Preface This book evolved as part of a natural process. Some of our previous works were aimed at the basics of project management (AMA Handbook of Project Management 1 ) and the people side of projects (Human Factors in Project Man- agement 2 ). A broader view of the world of projects was presented in Winning in Business with Enterprise Project Management 3 and was later complemented by Creating the Project Offi ce 4 and Right Projects Done Right. 5 Through our re- search and writings, the transformation of project management from a sin- gle-project focus to a full-scale organizational view became initially evident beginning in the 1990s and increasingly so in the early twenty-first century. That's what brought us to elaborate the Enterprise Project Governance view, which provides a holistic framework for connecting all project-related compo-
