130 THE WIDE WORLD OF FRAUD A few days go by, and your broker calls to say that he has worked it out. You give him a check for $10,000 and count the days on the calendar. In 30 days, you receive a check for $200. You receive another check 30 days later, and yet another 30 days after that. And you are hooked. You've seen it with your own eyes--you've taken a test-drive and liked the feel of the thing. You kick yourself for not putting in the $250,000 initially.
