CHAPTER 10 Closing a Project O NE OF THE MOST EXCITING DAYS for any project is the day it is closed. Closing a project is evidence that the project scope has been completed and all of the requirements of the project have been met. When the project manager, the business owner, and the project customer are in agreement concerning the completion of the project scope, then the final project management activities happen and the project is closed. Quality is a constant concern for the project manager, the project team, and the recipients of the project work. In the final stages, there is sometimes a rush to complete the project, and this rush can cause quality issues. Even though the project is in its fi- nal push to completion, quality should never be sacrificed for an immediate gain in time.
