Handout: Give It to Me . . . I Want It! Sales Negotiation Exercise 6. Give It to Me . . . I Want It! Directions You are about to participate in an exercise with other members of the class. The rules for this ex- ercise are simple and few, but they must be adhered to precisely at all times. Rules 1. Each person will have the opportunity to be both a seller and a buyer. The seller's goal is to get business ("it") from the buyer. 2. When you are a seller, you must say to the buyer, "Give it to me. . .I want it!" You may make this statement any way you want and as many times as you want, until the buyer says, "Okay, you can have it." 3. When you are the buyer, you must not give "it" unless you feel the seller really wants it. If you feel the seller really wants it, you can give it to him/her by saying, "Okay, you can have it." If you don't feel the seller really wants it, then say, "No, you can't have it, you're not ready yet." 4. The only words that can be spoken by either the seller or the buyer are the ones mentioned above.
