PART THREE: How to solve problems
The world we have made as a result of the level of thinking thus far creates problems we cannot solve at the same level of thinking at which we created them.
Albert Einstein, German physicist
What decision making, problem solving and creative thinking all have in common is the fact that they are all forms of effective thinking. But there are some distinctions between them. You can, for example, think creatively, in the sense of having an original idea, without either making a decision or solving a problem. In Part Three the main focus is on problem solving.
Incidentally, we cannot imagine what it would be like to have no problems, can we? For to live is to have problems, and to solve problems, or find our way around them, is the great way in which our minds grow intellectually. If God had directly revealed his existence, the human mind would never have developed.
