Marking Up with the Redline Tools

Besides capturing dimensions and onscreen measurements, Navisworks provides a whole suite of Redline tools that can be useful for marking up the models to include text notes, linework, and revision clouds. The benefit of this functionality is that these changes can be saved in the model views, which in turn can be shared among the project team members. Users don't need to reference a separate document to review the changes but can interact with the model and see exactly where the issues are situated. Also, users can add additional comments that are user/time/date stamped, so there is a historical record of any notes and annotations.

The Redline tools can be accessed under the Redline panel of the Review tab, as shown in Figure 6.20.
