When heading into a project in the business, it is important to understand what size of medical practice you will be working with. We have used three case studies to show the different challenges faced by small, medium, and large practices. Even with that knowledge, when you walk into a practice, you will need decision-making tools to determine how to best help that practice.
When sizing a practice, it is important to look at a number of factors, including the number of physicians, staffing levels, internal lab work, internal imaging services, number of sites, and billing needs (see Table 14-1).
