Wedding and Engagement Photography

Nowhere is the benefit of the Nikon Creative Lighting System more evident than in wedding and engagement photography. In these situations, photographers (and their subjects) are constantly on the move, and missing the shot just isn’t an option. Gone are the medium-format days where static images of perfectly posed people more closely resembled statues; now, it’s about fun and candid imagery. More couples are seeking artistically lit images that can timelessly hang on their wall.

Setup

If at all possible, you should approach wedding and engagement sessions with two words in mind: Mobility and flexibility. I suggest using a belt (I use one from Think Tank) that enables you to quickly change lenses, as well as carry a couple of speedlights and enough rechargeable batteries to last the day. Having a cart that can haul your speedlight bag and a couple of light stands is also a good idea.
