Hiring is mostly science, not art. It’s a methodical, repetitive, and often drawn-out process, but it’s one that most small-business owners have to go through eventually. The first step in the hiring process is to collect a roster of worthwhile applicants for the position, likely through one of the following methods:

By encouraging referrals from employees, vendors, and customers
Referrals are almost always the best option.
