GET OBJECTIVE FEEDBACK
One of the best ways to improve your presentation style is to get someone else to critique you.
After you’ve prepared your presentation, grab a friend you trust, and deliver your talk to him or her. Ask your friend to look for flaws and watch out for inconsistencies. You’ll be amazed at how many little mistakes you make when presenting that you yourself would never pick up, yet others watching can immediately identify.
Of course, some of us don’t enjoy having others point out mistakes in what we’re doing. But let’s face it: some of the most important moments of your life will be presentations of one sort or another, whether a speech to your loved ones or a talk to a giant corporation when you’re trying to win big business. Isn’t it better to be a little uncomfortable being critiqued by a friend or associate than to deliver a flawed presentation to a real audience?
