EMULATE YOUR FRIENDS

The next method of cultivating an outstanding self-image is to hang around with people who treat you like your ideal self-image, or who at least believe in and support you in becoming that person. The truth is, who you spend time with has an enormous influence on the person you become. Fraternize with lazy, weak-minded people and you’ll slowly become more like them. Spend lots of time with upbeat, kind, high achievers and inevitably their attitudes will reflect onto you. You’ll become more and more like them.

Unfortunately there will be lots of people reading this book who are trying to pull themselves up in life but keep getting pulled down by the people around them. This can be a particularly difficult situation when those people are part of your family. But you have to be strong and make sure you spend less time with these dark clouds and instead hang out with people who believe in you, admire you, and can help you get to where you want to be in life. It will make a huge difference to the quality of your life if you do.
