Chapter 5
Thinking About Thinking
Kate met Tony at his regular table in the rooftop restaurant. She ordered a salad and an iced tea while Tony, who again had already ordered without her, took a bite of his seared tuna entrée.
“I can't get enough of the fish here. You know, they fly it in daily?”
“Yes, I've heard that.”
“So how's that team of yours doing? Anybody quit yet?” he asked with a mischievous grin.
“No, nothing like that. They have actually been pretty open. I think the pain of Alicia's feedback had an impact. They are definitely willing to doing things differently. And they're starting to have some pretty deep realizations.”
“Even Juan? He's never struck me as someone with too much patience for ‘deep realizations.’”
“Hmm . . . yes, there may be some challenges there. He's been active in the discussions but he gets frustrated when we talk about stages of the process where he's not comfortable. At least, that's how I'm reading it,” said Kate.
