Monitor the Company’s Portfolio
Every quarter you need to listen to conference calls and read the quarterly reports. Find out how the company is doing against your assumption. If one-quarter’s revenue and earnings are down, you do not need to adjust your intrinsic value calculation; doing so annually is a reasonable timeframe.
After the company releases its annual report, update your research checklist items and recalculate the intrinsic value calculation. If the company presents at any investor conferences, those presentations should be available on the investor section of its web site. Read those presentations. Read the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing every quarter. You can meet with the management and talk to them and learn as much as possible about the company.
