I read the first 5 chapters, and skipped to one of the later chapters to learn a little bit about Active Directory and how it works.  As someone new to the IT field, I have been reading many books to teach myself, and this is by far one of the most poorly put together and thought out.  There is no consistency in the depth to which each topic is covered.  Particularly the subjects focused on internal computer hardware, much of the terminology assumes that you have a thorough understanding of the material, which contradicts the purpose of the book.  To make matters worse, the author barely describes the functions of many different devices, such as L1, L2, and L3 cache, so the reader has no better understanding of how things are supposed to work than before reading the book.
