Getting Ready to Use Multicurrency

We need to tell you something very important about the Multicurrency feature in QuickBooks. Are you ready? Okay, here it is. Once you turn it on, it cannot be turned off.

Because it’s so important, we’ll say it again: you cannot turn off the multicurrency feature once it is turned on.

Before you turn on the feature please do yourself a big favour and back up your company file, as described in Chapter 17. QuickBooks recommends this, and so do we. That way if you want to just play about with the feature but are not serious about using it (or you decide it’s not for you), you can restore (also described in Chapter 17) your file to the pre-Multicurrency version.

No doubt you know this, but we’ll mention it nonetheless. If you restore your file to an earlier version, you’ll lose all the work you did since you backed up. This is good news if you were just playing about, but not so good if you were entering transactions you intended to keep.
