The Quality Management Strategy
The Project Manager creates the Quality Management Strategy in the Initiating a Project process. This strategy defines how the project will be managed to ensure that products of the right quality will be created. Figure 6.8 shows the composition of the Quality Management Strategy.
FIGURE 6.8 The composition of the Quality Management Strategy
As you can see in Figure 6.8, the Quality Management Strategy has seven sections. The following descriptions use the hotel project example to give you an idea of what sort of information should be included in each section.
Introduction
The introduction establishes the purpose and objectives of the Quality Management Strategy. The purpose in the hotel example is to ensure that the project creates a hotel that meets the acceptance criteria defined in the Project Product Description and that the project complies with all relevant construction and safety standards. It also states who is responsible for the Quality Management Strategy. In the hotel example, this may be the Project Board.
