Betty is back for more! This time, she has a mad plan, and it’s your job to humor her. She wants one more stab at a composite for the Singapore Tourist Board. She has a shot of the Merlion, which is Singapore’s mascot. She wants it to be looking at a series of shots as if they were on a big screen in the harbor. But she also wants a circle in the bottom corner that animates on and off. Her graphics department has an animated circle shape that you can put on top of everything. Are you feeling up to it?

GOAL
Create a composition that uses many of the compositing techniques discussed in the lesson
Take a look at the effect (there is a “finished” version called Betty’s Grand Plan in the bin). How many layers will you need? There are three different components: the background, the screen and its contents, and the circle and its contents. But there are also other considerations. The background has a look that makes it blue, and the water jet is also partly covering the screen. What effect would you use to achieve that? Finally, the screen and the circle have images inside that are animating; this adds more layers to your composite.
