Avid FX allows you to work with as many tracks as you like. You can use up to six tracks from the Avid Timeline; if you want more, you can import footage as QuickTime movies. Let’s start by looking at how tracks can be composited and the different options for working with multiple tracks.
To explore the various compositing options:
1. Load the AVID FX COMPOSITING sequence in the LESSON 11 AVID FX PART 2 bin and enter the Effect Editor. The Avid FX filter is already added to the top track.
2. Launch the Avid FX user interface.
3. By default, you will see two video tracks in the Timeline, but you can easily add another. The default track type is a 3D Plane. To add a track, right-click in the Timeline under the existing tracks and select NEW SHAPE > 3D PLANE or press COMMAND+K (Mac) or CTRL+K (Windows).
