Advanced Nesting

As well as compositing effects using different tracks, sometimes it is necessary to make use of some advanced nesting techniques. For example, you may wish to put an entire sequence with multiple effects inside another effect. In cases like this, it is good to understand some of the more powerful features of nesting.

Adding Effects Inside a Nest

Let’s go back to your TV composite. You have put a picture on the screen, but what if you want to go further? What about having several pictures? What about replacing a picture with an entire sequence that you have previously built? The flower picture was used as a placeholder, but you can replace it with anything you like. In the bin there is a sequence called Dancing Girl. Let’s put this on the TV.
