Exercise 6.3: Associating Takes with the Script

Begin by focusing on dialogue for your rough-cut. Create slates with associated takes for the L-series of shots, such as L1+2-1(a), L1+2-2(a), and so on:

1. Scrub through the clips and determine which lines of dialogue they cover.

2. Highlight the covered lines within the SCRIPT window by dragging the cursor through those lines.

3. Drag the clip from the bin onto the highlighted text within the SCRIPT window.

The slate appears in the SCRIPT window.

4. Associate the remaining takes with this slate by dragging other takes from the bin and dropping them onto the existing slate.

5. Repeat for additional series of takes.

Try a faster process:

1. Play through U1+4-1(A) and determine which lines of dialogue it covers.
