Up to now, you’ve gone through a number of traditional routings, from setting up time-based effects like reverbs to creating subgroups to make your mixing more efficient. As your mix becomes increasingly complex, you may occasionally want to know where a track’s input is coming from or where its output is routed to. Pro Tools 10’s new track interrogation will let you do just that!
Right-click on the input or output that you wish to interrogate. (In this case, I’ve chosen an input.) The following interrogation options will appear:
Select Assignments to [path name]. Any track that uses the path will be selected.
Show Assignments to [path name]. Any track that uses the path will be shown.
Show Only Assignments to [path name]. Any track that uses the path will be shown. All other tracks will be hidden.
Restore Previously Shown Tracks. If you’ve hidden a track by using the Show Only Assignments to [path name] option, this will restore the previous track show/hide state.
