Opening the Project

For this lesson, you will work with the First Tracks Demo project that you created in Lesson 3, “Ingesting File-Based Media.”

To open the First Tracks Demo project:

1. Launch Avid Media Composer, if it is not already open.

2. In the Select Project dialog box, click the EXTERNAL button.

3. Make sure the LOCATION folder in the Select Project dialog box is set to DESKTOP > MC6 EDITING BOOK FILES > MC6 EDITING PROJECTS.

4. Click FIRST TRACKS DEMO in the project list.

5. Make sure USER PROFILE is set to TRAINING USER; then click OK. The project opens with the Bins pane active in the Project window and all of the editing interface windows open.

6. In the BINS tab, open the TIMELAPSE AND SCENERY bin.

7. Move the open bin under the Project window and resize it as needed. Change the bin to Text view if it is not already, as shown in Figure 4.1.
