Refining the Edit

After you have created different rough-cut sequences, it is time learn how to use the powerful Media Composer tools that clean up your work. In this lesson, you trim and refine edit points in a sequence to finesse the timing. Then you learn different methods for adding cutaway shots to support dialogue, as well as tools to slide a clip’s position and slip the footage within a clip itself. Sound intriguing? It should. Knowing how to enhance your edit from a rough cut to a professional-looking polished cut is what defines an editor’s work and makes or breaks the finished project.
