Now that you’ve imported your sound elements, you can edit them to create useable assets. You should start with the gunshots.
To trim the gunshot clip down to one repeatable gunshot, follow these steps:
1. Drag the MACHINE GUN clip from the Clip List to the Gun track.
2. Use TAB TO TRANSIENTS to navigate to the last shot in the clip. Typically, a gunshot needs to be useable both as a one-shot sample and as a repeating “automatic weapon” sample. The last shot in a recording is usually well suited for this purpose.
3. Nudge two milliseconds earlier and press the A KEY or select EDIT > TRIM CLIP > START TO INSERTION. The clip will be trimmed down to just the last gunshot.
4. Nudge two milliseconds later and press the D KEY or select EDIT > FADES > FADE CLIP START TO SELECTION. A small fade will be added at the beginning of the clip.
